Aladdin
Mr. C. Jeffries, of Shirley, Warwickshire, designed a radio controlled
target in response to a 1940 requirement by the Air Ministry Directorate of Training. Construction of the prototype was entrusted
to Jeffries employer Aladdin Industries, of Greenford, Middlesex, manufacturers of paraffin lamps, radiators and similar
products. Flight testing began on 20th June 1941 at Fairey Aviations Great West Aerodrome, but was not a success and the project
was abandoned.
