 Type 170 Mk.I Freighter
 
 
 
All-metal, high-wing monoplane with a wing loosly based on the pre-war Bristol Bombay, of the same section and taper but with a swept leading edge, straight trailing edge with two spars. The fuselage featured clamshell sideways opening nose doors. Designed to meet civilian and military requirements, initially to Specification 22/44 but eventually to Specification C.9/45 to meet the requirements of OR.192. Two 1675 h.p. Bristol Hercules 632/633 powerplants.
 Type 170 Mk.IA Freighter As Mk.I but configured for a mixture of freight and 16 passengers.
 Type 170 Mk.II Wayfarer As Mk.I but fixed nose (no freight doors). No seats but featuring one toilet.
