History
GFS Projects Limited was established in 2002 by Geoff Hatton to develop a vertical take-off and landing aircraft shaped like a flying saucer, using negative upper surface air pressure caused by the Coanda effect. GFS (an abbreviation of Geoff's Flying Saucer) won a contract with the US government in 2007 to design an unmanned aerial vehicle. However, the company folded at the end of 2008 after failing to raise more money. The assets were acquired by AESIR.
Privately owned AESIR Ltd, named after a family of Norse gods, was established on 28 January 2009 to take over the assets of GFS Projects, with Chris Newland as CEO, and a family of Unmanned Airborne Systems was projected in 2009. However, the company appears to have been dormant since 2010.
