Biographies
Non of the aircraft projects listed on this site would have existed without the enterprise, innovation and ingenuity of the men and women that created them. Some led illustrious lives and were fĂȘted in their own lifetime, while others slid quietly into obscurity.
Those who spent their careers at the helm of the company that bore their name, but whose activities were on a smaller scale, have their history appropriately as part of their company. However, those with companies that bore their names are but a minority. By far the majority of biographies give here are of 'mere' employees, but without whose skills their employers would have had no raison d'ĂȘtre. Many of these men and women were also among the earliest pilots, and their biographies can be found on my sister site Britain's Aviators - The First 500
The emphasis of these biograhies is on careers rather than personal life, so details of family and observations on personality have for the most part been omitted.
