Notes
- Known locally as Type 504S, or officially Avro Seaplane Trainer.
- Supplied by the British Aviation Mission to Japan in September 1921. Mikesh and Abe [7] quote 30 aircraft, supplied as 20 landplanes and 10 seaplanes. Colonel The Master Of Semphills' report on the Mission in Flight [13] gives the aircraft supplied as Avro 504K with 110 h.p. Le Rhône and Avro 504L with 150 h.p. Bentley BR1.
- These aircraft were not true 504Ls but float-equipped 504Ks (130 h.p. Clerget) and without the third undercarriage strut.
- It is unclear if these were true Type 504L aircraft or Type 504Ks equipped with floats.
