Type Description
- Type 748 Series 1
- Medium-sized low wing turboprop airliner with accommodation for two crew with 44 to 62 passengers plus two cabin staff. Fuselage was an all metal semi-monocoque fail safe structure of circular cross section. Passenger access was via a door located at the rear of the cabin on the port side, with crew and freight access via a larger door on the port side just behind the cockpit. The wings were an all-metal two spar fail-safe structure, with shielded horn balanced manually operated ailerons and electrically operated Fowler flaps. The leading edge featured pneumatic de-icing boots. The tail unit was a cantilever all metal structure of fixed incidence with manually operated elevators and rudder. The retractable tricycle landing was hydraulically operated. Two 1600 shp Rolls-Royce R.Da.6 Dart Mk 514 powerplants.

- Military variant with an upswept rear fuselage and rear loading ramp and a "kneeling" undercarriage, to meet Specification C.237 to the requirements of OR.370/ASR.377. The aircraft had larger four-bladed propellers than the 748, which required a greater distance between the engines and the fuselage, although the wingtips were reduced by 18 inches to maintain the same wingspan as the 748 Series 1. A dihedral tailplane was also fitted to keep it clear of the propeller slipstream. Two 2,970 shp. Rolls-Royce R.Da.12 Dart Mk.301 powerplants.
