Produced Variants

B.37 Firebrand F.Mk.I Single seat naval fighter to meet the requirements of Specification N.11/40. One 2,305 h.p. Napier Sabre III powerplant.
B.37 Firebrand T.F.Mk.II
 
Single seat naval torpedo strike fighter based on the F.Mk.I with wider centre section to allow the carriage of a torpedo between the retracted main landing gear.
B.45 Firebrand T.F.Mk.III
 
Single seat naval torpedo strike fighter to meet the requirements of Specification S.8/43. Based on the T.F.II with a cut down rear fuselage with bubble canopy. One 2,400 h.p. Bristol Centaurus VII powerplant.
B.46 Firebrand T.F.Mk.IV
 
Main production variant. As T.F.Mk.III with redesigned fin and rudder and the addition of dive brakes. One 2,520 h.p. Bristol Centaurus IX powerplant.
B.46 Firebrand T.F.Mk.5 T.F.Mk.IV with detail improvements.
B.46 Firebrand T.F.Mk.5A T.F.Mk.IV and TF.Mk.5 modified with hydraulically boosted aileron controls.
