Notes
- Both Air Britain [2] and Robertson [3] give 504K H2968 converted to 504R, but since the 504R had a new lightweight structure, this is most unlikely.
- Initially fitted with the 100 h.p. Gnome Monosoupape powerplant, from 1931 the 140 h.p. Armstrong Siddeley Genet Major became standard, firstly on new built aircraft from Serial No. 40, then as replacements as required. Known aircraft re-engined with the Genet Major are 4, 15, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 38 and 39.
- Per Hagedorn [4]:"Ten 504Rs were acquired in June 1927, together with a licence to construct the type at the Fabrica Militar de Aviacion (FMA). However, nothing like 100 were produced, as has so often been quoted, and the first four of an apparent total of 34 locally built 504Rs were not delivered to Parana, until 10 August 1929. By November 1935. five 504K/R and 30 FMA built 504Rs were in service, and a Ministry of War report stated that they were "deemed excellent machines, though somewhat worn out, despite the fact that they were very well maintained." Numbered in a strict numerical sequence, the highest known FMA 504R is s/n 44.... The last known report of the type in service was during a review in July 1937, when s/nos 12, 14, 15, 20, 30, 33, 35, 39, 42, 43 and 44 took part."
