Type Description
- Type 641
Commadore - Four/five-seat touring cabin biplane. The fuselage a welded steel box structure, shaped with wooden formers and stringers, the whole being fabric covered. The equal-span, single-bay wings were fabric covered and of all metal construction, heavily staggered such that the upper mainplane rear spar was directly above the lower mainplane front spar, with spars formed from corrugated, light steel strips and one-piece light alloy ribs, wire braced and supported on narrow chord N-type interplane struts. and a stout, faired, tubular metal strut replaced the landing wires. Fuel tanks were located in the upper wing roots between the spars. Frise-type ailerons were fitted on the lower mainplanes only. The split undercarriage was faired and spatted. The roomy cabin, accessed via a door on the port side, was well glased, including a glased roof panel. One 215 h.p. Armstrong Siddeley Lynx IVC powerplant in a long chord NACA cowling.
