Production Summary
B.218
(Originally known as the Beagle-Miles M.218). Four-seat twin-engined light aircraft, of plastic and metal construction, developed from the Miles M.115. The primary load-carrying structure of the aircraft was a T-shaped assembly built from aluminium-alloy sheet, attached to which were mouldings, made from Bakelite polyester resin reinforced with glass fibre, covering about sixty per cent of the surface area. The plastic sections included the engine cowling and nacelle, the leading and trailing edges of the wings, the wing tips, flaps and ailerons, and the one-piece moulding for the top half of the fuselage and tail fin, rudder and cabin door. Two 145 h.p. Rolls-Royce Continental O-300 powerplants.
